I would download movies, books and tablet games. The battery will run out quickly and your game would not play the way you want it too. If you loose power it would be hard to run your sims games off laptop battery. You need to play plugged in while gaming anyway. I know this has been an issue for lots of people in the past and I'm just trying to get everything squared away now when I have internet that way I'm not crawling the walls bored later. But Sims 3 and Sims 4 is the only games I have on my laptop and both require No, it's completely fine. I've already charged up both tablets and our laptops. I just don't want to be completely and utterly bored if/when we lose power and internet. I might completely disconnect my router and give it a test run.

So, essentially, since my router still has internet, even when I disconnect it with my laptop (wifi), it requires a online log in first, but it should if/when the internet is truly off log in offline correctly when there is no internet available (if I understood that right)? just foreseeing none this weekend due to the ice storm. If it goes to a login, play along and I think it should go through to the game. Pretty sure it has worked that way here.Įdit: A better test might be: Turn off your WiFi and/or unplug any ethernet from your laptop so you really have no internet. Do the 'login' as normal and when it finds no internet, it should just go to offline mode and let you start your game.) (If I recall, it may still do a 'login' but it's basically just going through the motions. But if you simply have no active connection, I think it will work properly.

If you -have- an active internet connection (as it sounds you did when you did your test), Origin will behave as you described - it will still go online for a login before you can go offline and play your game. Okay, there've been some changes with recent Origin updates (mostly good ones, I think), but as far as I know: So, what is the walk around to getting my sims 4 to play for truly offline game play because internet will not be an option at all when this ice storm hits.

Closed origin and then double clicked Sims 4. Restarted origin, changed it to "offline". I likely won't have the ability to make my cell a hot spot at this time. The chances of us being without internet and/or electric (likely both) are pretty great right now. We are on the verge of a 3 day ice storm where I live. Well, usually I just fix it by making my cell a hotspot, connecting my laptop to the wifi that way and then playing. Origin will tell you that you have to be logged in online the first time, which - obviously - I've been logged in online numerous times. I remember seeing lots of topics about not being able to log into to Origin offline to play Sims 4 and I had the same issue on my laptop when I'd go on the truck with my husband and want to play Sims 4.
